Edward Watson is a principal ballet dancer with The Royal Ballet and
has been since 1994. Watson started ballet dancing at a young age along
with his twin sister Elizabeth. He was successful in auditions for The
Royal Ballet School, which he joined as a boarder at the age of 11.
Amongst his many career achievements Watson won an Olivier award in
2012 for his performance Metamorphosis, based upon Kafka's short story
of the same name. As of 2014 he is in rehearsals for a Royal Ballet
production of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale in which he will dance
the role of Leontes.
He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2015 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to Dance. He is a Principal Dancer for the Royal Ballet in London, England.
