Winner of the "Ariel 2011" award for Best Actress and the award for Best Actress award by the Asociación de Críticos en Línea de México 2011 (Online Critics Association of Mexico), as well as the award for Best Actress at the XL International Modolist Festival in Kiev, Ukraine 2010, for her role in "Año Bisiesto" by Michael Rowe, winner of the Golden Camera at the Cannes International Film Festival, 2010. Since 2011 Monica has been a member of the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences).
In 2016 she was part of the jury of the Shorts Mexico Festival and in 2015 from the 13th Vancouver Latin American Film Festival in Canada, as well as the Festival de Nuevo Cine Mexicano de Durango (Durango New Mexican Film Festival).
Mónica has been awarded for the second time by the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences) with the "Ariel 2020" as "Best Female Co-Acting" for the film "Asfixia" directed by Kenya Márquez.
Nowadays, we can see her performing in the new installment of the award-winning director Michel Franco "Nuevo Orden" playing the role of "Marta", a character that has been awarded her the 3rd nomination for the Academy Awards for Best Actress.
