Plus, Elena develops a ‘new obsession’ on the second-to-last episode of the season. Any guesses?
Summer may be fast approaching, but the good people of Mystic Falls are about to experience a serious chill. The May 9 episode of The Vampire Diaries, ominously titled “The Walking Dead,” will find some dearly (and not-so-dearly) departed characters returning to the land of the living — “some with good intentions and some bent on revenge.”
According to The CW’s official description of the episode, the ghosts’ arrival is coupled with a “violent wind storm” that knocks out power in the town. That’s right, as if ghosts weren’t terrifying enough, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and friends will have to face them in the dark.
Which Dead Characters Are Returning As Ghosts?
Considering how many beloved characters The Vampire Diaries has lost over the years, there’s practically an endless list of possible returners to...

Tears! Betrayals! Party crashers! HollywoodLife.com got an early look at the highly anticipated prom episode of ‘The Vampire Diaries.’
Dances at Mystic Falls High School always end in disaster, and I can confidently confirm that the mother of all dances does not disappoint. Along with being a veritable feast for shippers — nearly every single potential couple is given a spotlight moment at, or after, prom — the April 18 episode of The Vampire Diaries also draws some very permanent battle lines. Needless to say, Elena (Nina Dobrev) doesn’t make any new friends this week.
‘Vampire Diaries’ Spoilers: 6 Bites From Season 4, Episode 19
1. Thought you were done weeping over Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen)? Think again! Bonnie (Kat Graham) having her memory wiped forces her to have her own private funeral for the dear, departed Gilbert — and it’s a tearjerker.
2. Speaking of Bonnie, this episode shows us just how far her expression...

‘The Vampire Diaries’ is finally back from hiatus April 18, and this clip gives us three more reasons to get excited: Damon. Stefan. Football.
With Elena (Nina Dobrev) more out-of-control than ever, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) have an impossible task ahead of them on the April 18 episode of The Vampire Diaries. And what’s the best way for two bros to clear their heads and brainstorm? According to this new clip, obtained exclusively by HollywoodLife.com, the answer is simple: a friendly came of catch!
Now for the dilemma: How are they going to make “emotion-less vampire” Elena actually want the cure they’re so desperately looking for? After putting their beautiful heads together, Damon and Stefan come up with three separate plans — although Plan B is actually just to stall Elena until they come up with a Plan C, so technically, they only have one plan up their collective sleeve.

The evil force that is Silas has already appeared on The Vampire Diaries, but fans have yet to see the warlock’s true face. That, my friends, is about to change. He can take any form, but his true form will be brought to life by actor Scott Parks.
Today’s casting news came from EW. I, personally, would never hope to meet Silas face to face, but I suppose for our favorite characters, such a thing was inevitable.
The CW picked Parks to play Silas. The actor’s most recent TV role was on the acclaimed Showtime series, Homeland, where he played an agent. Remember that in the March 21 episode of Vampire Diaries, titled “Because the Night,” Damon whisked Elena away for some R&R in New York City. This followed even more bad behavior in the “Bring It On” episode, in which our girl threw a crazy party...

Viewers of The Vampire Diaries have already met Silas, the ancient witch who is up to no good on the latter half of Season 4.
But CW sources now confirm we'll soon meet the actor behind Silas, as Scott Parks has been cast in this key role.
The little-known star most recently appeared on Homeland as a CIA agent, but his face won't actually show up often over the next few weeks. Look for Silas to continue to take on various faces and forms as we move ahead to the May 16 finale.

Birthday shoutouts go to Charlie Hunnam (above), who is 33, Alex Pettyfer is 23, and Mandy Moore is 29. Satan's Ten Commandments to the Homosexual Lobby. In tragic news, it appears that the big budget "reimagining" of Tarzan, starring Alexander Skarsgard as the legendary swinger, may not go forward. In ratings news, NBC's endlessly plugged Ready For Love came out of the gate chased by the Cancellation Bear. The Vampire Diaries has cast Scott Parks in the role of villain Silas. Below you can see the penultimate episode of Season Two of Old Dogs & New Tricks, with special guest star Michael Kearns. Damian calls Nathan his "agent" (and I could feel the kick in the gut), and Brad makes a surprising decision.

Mystic Falls’ most hyped villain (since Klaus, at least) is about to be revealed!
Vampire Diaries fans, you know all that pent-up anger you have towards Silas for killing Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen)? Well, it sounds like we’ve finally got a face to direct it at! Scott Parks has been cast as the show’s über villain, Entertainment Weekly is reporting, which means we’ll finally get to gaze into the face of pure — and eternal — evil!
A “Scott Parks” Google search will reveal… not a whole lot, actually. Though the actor has appeared on an episode of HBO’s Homeland, he’s fairly elusive as far as the internet is concerned. Hey, I guess he and Silas have that in common!
Update: He goes by “Raymond Scott Parks,” officially, so go ahead and check him out on IMDb!
HollywoodLifers, are you happy with this casting? Did you have someone else in mind?...

The Vampire Diaries’ newest big bad has finally been cast. And no, it isn’t Regis Philbin. (Sorry, Ian Somerhalder!).
Actor Scott Parks—whose most recent credit includes a stint on Homeland as a team agent—has been tapped to play the elusive Silas, the CW has confirmed.
Of course, that doesn’t mean we’ll actually see a lot of Parks in the role. Fans who watched the most recent episode of The Vampire Diaries know that Silas can take any form — a skill he’ll likely put to good use as the series races toward its May 16 finale.
