Made her nightclub debut at Feinstein's at the Loews Regency in Manhattan. Her nightclub review, titled "Coming Home", ran September 23 to October 4, and featured songs from Broadway, the Great American Songbook and pop classics, by the likes of Bonnie Raitt and Melissa Etheridge, as well as selections from हेयरस्प्रे (1988). Tried out for the part of Tracy in Hairspray on Broadway, but got
turned down because she was too young at the time. A few years later, she got cast as Tracy in the movie version of Hairspray.
I grew up singing since the age of three. Vocally trained since the age
of eight. Fascinated by Mary Poppins and all those musical movies and
really knew that I wanted to be a performer.
