- Desirée is a Telly Award winning Hispanic actor, filmmaker, and producer, known for exploring social and feminist themes through a magical/hopeful lens. Desirée was one of 5 recipients of the Inwood Artworks Filmmakers Grant for her magical realist short film, "An Invitation to Tea", which garnered her several "Audience Choice", "Best New Director", and "Excellence in Filmmaking" awards during its 2020-2021 festival season. Her second film, "ANNE", has been accepted/screened in over 30 festivals worldwide and, in addition to multiple "Audience Choice", "Diversity in the Arts", "Best Cinematic Director", and "Best of Fest" awards, it was in consideration for a 2023 Academy Award Live Action Shorts nomination.
