Mark those calendars, Survivor fans!
A Survivor 45 alum is appearing on an upcoming episode of the quiz show Jeopardy!.
Drew Basile was recently seen in Fiji as a Survivor 45 cast member.
And if you told Survivor fans watching that season that Drew would later play Jeopardy!, nobody would have been surprised.
Drew was part of the Survivor season that saw Dee Valladares beat Austin Li Coon at the final Tribal Council. Jake O’Kane finished in third place.
Drew finished in sixth place, making it to Day 23 before getting eliminated and becoming the sixth jury member. He voted for Austin to win, but Dee emerged with the 5-3 victory.

“It’S Happening! I’m going on Jeopardy June 19th,” Drew announced with a new X post.
“The haters have long called me a know-it-all. It’s time to prove them right.

Survivor contestants are saying see ya to a bit of prize money from pop singer/songwriter Sia.
Just two days after Survivor’s 46th season ended, host Jeff Probst announced that the Sia Prize has come to an end. Sia will no longer award money to her favorite players every season.
On May 24, Probst announced the end of her largesse on Instagram. Sia reposted it.
“After eight years, 14 seasons, 19 players, and over $1,000,000 awarded, Survivor is officially bringing the Sia Prize to a triumphant end!”
Sia reposted Probst’s statement on her Instagram Story, adding animated hearts.
“Over the many years, Sia has brought so much joy to so many players and it was always straight from her heart,” Probst said.

Survivor is losing one of its fan-favorite unofficial prize funds. Jeff Probst released a statement explaining the prize and said that it has officially ended. It has lasted eight years, 14 seasons, and 19 players have won over $1 million. However, Jeff said it is time to close it down.
Here is what Jeff Probst said is ending on Survivor after players won an extra million dollars in prize money.
Sia Is Ending Her Survivor Prize Fund
Sia is an Australian singer/songwriter who is a huge Survivor fan. When she began offering her own money as a special prize fund for her favorite contestants, it took everyone by surprise. This included host Jeff Probst, who didn’t know it was going to happen until after it started.

The Sia Prize has become a familiar post-season award to fun players from each Survivor cast.
Singer Sia had given out cash prizes to the players she most enjoyed watching each season.
Sia enjoyed rewarding several players each season, with recent winners including Kaleb Gebrewold, Jake O’Kane, Carolyn Wiger, Carson Garrett, and Elaine Stott.
Players had been getting up to $100,000 for being her favorite player in a season or $15,000 for being entertaining. And she did this for eight years.
Sia is one of the biggest Survivor fans out there, and the players getting her prize would usually get invited to meet and party with her.
But it is the end of an era, as it has been announced that Sia is done with the prizes and that nobody from the Survivor 46 cast will get one.

Wednesday night on CBS, Jeff Probst officially lit the torch on the 46th season of “Survivor.” Just like all of the “new era” cycles, this year’s crop of 18 contestants have been divided into three tribes and come from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. The first two episodes of this installment will be two hours long, and then the show will air in 90-minute increments thereafter. In the season premiere, viewers met the new castaways and found out who had the unfortunate title of being the first person voted off the island.

Following Dee Valladares‘ triumphant victory over Austin Li Coon and Jake O’Kane during the three-hour finale of “Survivor 45,” Gold Derby ran a poll asking fans to name who Really deserved to win. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the plurality of our poll respondents agreed with the actual results of the CBS reality TV show. Yep, Dee deserved to win, according to 40% of viewers. Meanwhile, Austin nabbed 31% support, and Jake garnered the remaining 29%.
Dee, Austin and Jake outlasted all of the other players during this 45th season, including fourth-place finisher Katurah Topps (who lost the fire-making challenge) and fifth-place contender Julie Alley (who was the last person voted out). Dee now goes down as “Survivor’s” 18th female winner ever, compared to 27 male champions.

At the start of the upcoming 12th episode of “Survivor 45,” the Final 6 players return to camp after Julie Alley saved herself by using an idol. What a difference two episodes can make; so far in “Survivor 45,” two tight allies turned on each other, an unlikely pair emerged as a power duo, a player went from the bottom to a major deciding position, and there are new types of advantages and creative ways to retrieve idols. Let’s break down Episode 3, titled “No Man Left Behind,” and the latest from “Survivor 45” as we are about to head into our first tribe swap of the new era.
Starting with the Belo tribe, much has changed within the social dynamics with some cracks in the women’s alliance of Katurah Topps, Kellie Nalbandian and Kendra McQuarrie, with Kendra bonding with Jake O’Kane, and Kellie forming a connection with Brando Meyer, with the latter duo claiming to be in the middle deciding whether to go with the alliance of the men or the women, since Jake is also very close with Bruce Perreault.

The sapphire anniversary of “Survivor,” aka its 45th season, premiered September 27, 2023 on CBS with an extended running time of 90 minutes per episode. This year’s 18 castaways are all mostly new, aside from Bruce Perreault who returned this season after being medically evacuated in “Survivor 44” due to a head injury.
Over the course of 26 days in Mamanuca Islands, Fiji, host Jeff Probst will snuff out every torch until only one person remains as the winner and claims the $1 million prize. How will the various advantages, immunity idols and Shots in the Dark affect each of the players’ chances? Old school fans of “Survivor” fondly remember the show’s classic theme song titled “Ancient Voices,” composed by Russ Landau, that opened up every episode. The main titles were axed many years ago to make more room for on-screen story, but one contestant from Season 45 is bringing it back, acoustic style. Watch the “Survivor 45” sneak peek video below.
Bruce Perreault, who returns this season after being medically evacuated on “Survivor 44,” sings the theme song beginning at the 32-second mark of the teaser trailer. It’s all a part of his “Crazy Uncle Bruce” persona that “seems to be working out very well,” he reveals in a confessional. “I put on that smiling face. I laugh and giggle. But we have things that need to get done. They’re working at a snail’s pace,” he complains about his fellow Belo tribe mates Brando Meyer, Jake O’Kane, Katurah Topps, Kellie Nalbandian and Kendra McQuarrie.

Truth time: ‘Survivor 45’ began in messy fashion, with clashing personalities and an unexpected quit
“Survivor” is back again with its 45th season and 18 new contestants. For the first time in the history of the reality TV show, there will be 90-minute episodes throughout the entire season. That gives viewers more character game moments and tribe dynamics, which last week’s premiere delivered in messy fashion, with many clashing personalities and an unexpected quit at the end. As the three tribes form and the alliances begin on “Survivor 45,” read on as we break down the game and the hour and a half premiere.
Starting with the Belo tribe, there is the return of Bruce Perreault from last season after being medically evacuated 12 hours into the game. Despite proclaiming to his tribe that he did not want to be known as the leader out here, it was followed by him guiding the tribe and suggesting what to do, as noted by the ladies Katurah Topps, Kellie Nalbandian and Kendra McQuarrie,...

Wednesday night on CBS, Jeff Probst officially lit the torch on the 45th season of “Survivor.” Just like all of the “new era” cycles, this year’s crop of 18 contestants have been divided into three tribes and come from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. Due in part to the writers’ and actors’ strikes, all episodes will be 90 minutes long this season, a first for the franchise. In the season premiere, viewers met the new castaways and found out who had the unfortunate title of being the first person voted out of Fiji.

“Survivor 45” contestant Jake O’Kane has always dreamed of playing the game, but because he’s worked on himself in recent years he’s finally ready. The 26 year old attorney from Massachusetts puts his “notorious Irish whisper” on full display, wearing his personality and culture with pride. Watch their full CBS interview below.
Jake sees himself as someone who occupies a lot of different spaces in the world. He’s a lawyer, but he’s “also a bartender and teaching theater to kids.” He says he’s doesn’t “entrench [himself] entirely in one world.” In fact, it surprises people that he’s a 26 year old lawyer living with his 85 year old grandmother. He admits that he’s “mooching a little bit.” She’s watched the show before and understands the concept, but has told Jake that “they’re so mean to each other.”

The first episode of every “Survivor” season can often feel like homework, as viewers are introduced to multiple brand new personalities and tribes within the span of an hour. That’s why Gold Derby is providing you with this handy dandy cheat sheet of the “Survivor 45” tribe divisions and colors. Read on to see how the 18 castaways have been divided into the Belo (blue), Lulu (yellow) and Reba (red) tribes for this Fall 2023 installment.
First up, a quick reminder that “Survivor 45” filmed earlier this year in Mamanuca Islands, Fiji with Jeff Probst back as host. Seventeen of this cycle’s players are brand new to the game, with the 18th person being Bruce Perreault, who was medically evacuated in “Survivor 44” due to a head injury. Initially, the contestants will be evenly divided into three groups of six, but then those who make it to around the halfway point will merge together into one tribe.
