George M. Cohen himself told his mother to get him into vaudeville and she did, crossing the country and playing at impressive theater venues across the United States from his young age of 4 until he was independent and on his own. Buddy's Chicago roommate during their vaudeville days was an English-born young man named Leslie Towne Hope, better known as Bob Hope. As the story is told, Buddy came back from a trip to Los Angeles and mentioned to Bob, "There's a guy you should meet in Los Angeles. His name is Bing Crosby." And the rest was history. They asked him to do the music, arranging, and composing for their "Road pictures," (Road to Morocco, Road to Zanzibar, etc.) and being exhausted from traveling since the age of 4, he declined. If he had said yes, Linnda's cousins would have lived on a trust fund, but he turned them down. With the advent of radio and then TV, Buddy became the talent scout for Major Bowes Radio Hour, and, when that became Ted Mack's Amateur Hour for both Radio and then TV, Buddy became their head talent scout, discovering Julius LaRosa, Connie Francis, Pat Boone, and Ann-Margret. Linnda had the thrill of meeting Pat Boone in Whole Foods in Beverly Hills and introduced herself to Pat, who was delighted to meet Buddy's niece. She said to Pat Boone, "You were my Justin Bieber when I was a kid." Pat Boone and Linnda met again at a Prayer Breakfast at the Century Plaza Hotel, and Linnda had brought her then manager, the late legendary Bernie Lax, and her friend, Rev. David Chapman, with her to the breakfast and introduced them both to Pat Boone.- IMDb Mini Biography By: ld
