Joanne is a Nichol's Fellowship screenwriting Finalist as well as Americans for the Arts workshop recipient. Joanne has directed over 30 episodes of True Crime television such as Southern Gothic, FBI Criminal Pursuit, Ice Cold Killers and Happily Never After for cable networks such as Discovery ID, A&E Biography and Lifetime.
Her documentary projects include: Charles Canon: A Mind for Business, The James B. Duke Story, Laugh at Us, and In the Footsteps of Elie Wiesel and they can be seen on Amazon and PBS. Most recently she completed two notable pop-culture documentaries, which are on the film festival circuit; award-winning audience favorite, Purple Dreams, which premiered to a sold-out crowd of 1500 people at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival and at Lincoln Center. Joanne was an ad agency copywriter/producer that was "bitten" by the production bug while working on commercials. Pushing boundaries, she was eventually tapped by Kodak Films in the mid-90's as one of the few women cinematographers working in the business. Joanne lensed hundreds of TV ads before shifting into feature narratives. In the last 12 years she's helmed 7 movies and directed several Hollywood legends: including Cloris Leachman, Brian Dennehy, Rachel Welch, Melissa Gilbert, Bill Cobbs and James Hong. Joanne also built a reputation for creatively shaping emerging talent and their on camera performances including Darby Camp, Madison Bailey and Erika Gluck.
