Emily Morwen is a Canadian born actress, whose multiple talents include
acting, physical comedy, writing , directing, and producing as well as
being a savvy business woman. This stunning multi hyphenate was able to
express these gifts fully when she emerged onto the scene with her
award winning one woman show 'Spotless'. She went on to tour both
Canada and the US, with her show 'Spotless' and garnered rave reviews.
'Spotless' was awarded Best Solo Drama Performance. Emily also
co-developed and directed the solo show, 'Leaving Normal', which
premiered in New York City. Leaving Normal received critical acclaim
and won an Audience Choice Award.
The talented Canadian actress graced the stages of the much acclaimed summer repertory company The Williamstown Theatre Company. Emily was most certainly a key player in the life blood of the festival. (Performers at The Williamstown Theatre include such talent as Blythe Danner, Victor Garber, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ethan Hawke) She performed in multiple plays, and was cast in many roles. She was in high demand by all the directors. Memorable productions include 'Once in a Lifetime' (directed by Broadway director, Michael Greif) 'The King Stag' (directed by the artistic director of NYC's critically acclaimed EDGE Theatre, Carolyn Cantor) and 'All That's Shiny' (directed by off-Broadway director Evan Cabnet)
In film,the Canadian beauty has been cast opposite many rising stars. She played opposite Josh Peace (Lars and The Real Girl) in 'Wet Wool' for which she was able to put her comedic skills to full use. She also starred in the CFC Production, 'Washed Away', opposite Canadian actress Kristin Booth. In 'Washed Away' Emily stunned in her first dramatic lead.
On September 8, 2011 Emily opened up Modo Yoga Company in Los Angeles with co founder Deena Robertson. Modo Yoga was named 'Best Hot Yoga' studio in Los Angeles Magazine in August 2013.
Modo studios world wide raise 400, 000 dollars for community and environmental efforts, each year. Ms Morwen and Ms Robertson also created the highly successful fund-raiser #SweatforChange, which benefited Little Kids Rock!
Emily is a graduate of the prestigious Circle In The Square Theatre School in New York City.
