- Born in Hornell New York. His family moved to South Florida where he graduated from Deerfield Beach High School in 1973. Enlisted in the Army and after Basic Training in Fort Knox KY he worked in Television Production before being selected to attend The United States Military Academy at West Point NY. He was sworn in July 1975 as a member of the Class of 1979 and resigned in February 1977 to pursue a career in Comedy. After studying theater at Florida Atlantic University he moved to Los Angeles in 1979 where he was discovered by Budd Friedman and performed Stand-Up Comedy at The Improv. His marriage to Jan Goder on April 1, 1982 on the Main Room Stage of The Comedy Store was televised on Entertainment Tonight. Their son Nash was born in 1985. Jan passed away in 1986. Has worked as a Stand-Up comic for over 35 years. Appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2013.
Studied Acting with Estelle Harmon in Los Angeles.
Studied Improvisation with Stephen Colbert at Second City in Chicago.
