- Steve Schäfer was born in San Francisco, California. Growing up in Western Europe and Australia, he started photography in high school. His love for the camera later took him to the Savannah College of Art and Design to study film with an emphasis in the camera department, especially camera movement. While at the school he crewed on several short films filling various positions on the camera crew ranging from AC to Dolly and Steadicam operator. He ended his college career with his thesis film "A Grimm Affair", crewed and cast entirely with local Savannah talent. After graduation he moved to Seattle to start work in the local independent film scene and concentrate on bringing "A Grimm Affair" to the festival circuit. He has since crewed on "Creatures from the Pink Lagoon" and "Sly Dog", both shot locally during September 2004 as well as 2005's "Bob Hope's miracle cure for incarceration", an entry in the Seattle True Independent Film Festival's 48 hour film challenge.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Steve Schäfer
