“The View,” which hasn’t been shy about criticizing Ron DeSantis’ policies in the past, extended an invitation to the Florida governor to come onto the show despite the show hosts’ potential misgivings, an individual with knowledge of the move confirmed to TheWrap.
In turn, a member of DeSantis’ team posted their emailed response to Twitter on Wednesday, in which they passed on the offer and challenged the nature of the invitation.
“But are the hosts of the View really interested in hearing from Governor DeSantis about all of the important work he is doing on behalf of Floridians to protect their heath and livelihoods, to stand up for parents and children, and to defend freedom?” wrote Bryan Griffin, deputy press secretary for DeSantis.

When I first met Bryant Griffin, it was in the newsroom at a Tampa Tribune bureau office. I was the editor of one of the Tribune's weekly community papers, and Bryant was a page designer who was very quiet, and unhappy about the fact our newsroom used PCs instead of Macs. The person who introduced us convinced me we'd get along great, considering we both had a liking to science-fiction. But Bryant, busy in whatever work he was doing, shook hands politely, and then turned back to his work. I never imagined that a decade later, we'd be looking back at 10 years of working together on this little project we now call Airlock Alpha (as well as our sister site, Rabid Doll. On Wednesday, the two of us board a plane for San Diego (and yes, I checked this time, and we're not flying into Carlsbad) ...

A few years back, a real sweet person volunteered to be my assistant, helping me out when I needed it, and taking some things off my plate. She is absolutely amazing. But me, Mr. Independent, still tries to do things on his own. Like booking plane tickets. So, I booked plane tickets for myself, and for the editor of Rabid Doll Bryant Griffin for Comic-Con next week. Our plane leaves Tampa, Fla., just before noon on Wednesday, and lands in Houston. After a short layover, we board another plane, and head straight to Los Angeles. We then board a small puddle-jumper plane, and make our way to ... Carlsbad. Yeah, Carlsbad, Calif. About 30 miles north of San Diego -- a wonderful distance for someone who is not renting a car. I booked a hotel right next to the airport (which has it's ...

On the plane ride from Tampa to San Diego, I was sitting next to Bryant Griffin, doing some last-minute mapping on how our time would be spent at San Diego Comic-Con. You should know Bryant as the news editor of Rabid Doll, but to me, he's a friend I've known for almost a decade, and not only is he the longest continuing member of the Airlock Alpha team, but he's also the most loyal. During this planning session, I stopped Bryant in mid-sentence. "You know, I almost didn't make this trip to Comic-Con this year, right?" Bryant was a little shocked by that, considering Comic-Con is all I ever talk about throughout the year, even when we're not actually at it. However, he definitely understood. The economy has been bad for a lot of people, but it has especially been bad for Internet ...

It's real late on a Thursday night, and I'm just plain exhausted. I spent the first part of the week putting together an Alpha Waves Radio broadcast that hadn't even been regularly scheduled (but turned out to be an awesome interview with Deric A. Hughes and Benjamin Raab from "Warehouse 13"). I've been trying to keep the sites updated, and I've been preparing our small contingent of reporters going to San Diego with schedules that will have the entire BlipNetwork covering nearly 100 events. Yep, Airlock Alpha, Rabid Doll and Inside Blip will be well-represented at San Diego Comic-Con next week, and you'll get to experience all of that right on these very sites. We also have a mixture of veterans and noobies going with us, beginning with myself and Rabid Doll news editor Bryant Griffin, ...

When I flew back to Tampa from California last summer, I was recovering from such a great first experience I had at San Diego Comic-Con. But I vowed then I would not return the next year alone. I kept that promise. Airlock Alpha, Rabid Doll and our soon-to-be-launched Inside Blip sent five people, including me, to Comic-Con this year to bring you some of what I feel was the most comprehensive coverage of the event. You had Bryant Griffin, the assistant news editor of both Rabid Doll and Airlock Alpha, who really made some waves through some excellent reporting, including this cool interview with the writer and director of "The Collector." Then we had Katie Sawyer who was like an iron woman attending as many panels as she could, and sharing one of my favorite stories from Comic-Con: ...

Who ever thought that such a fun event like San Diego Comic-Con would be so much work? But it has been. And yeah, it's still a lot of fun. The BlipNetwork, which includes both Airlock Alpha and our sister horror entertainment news site, Rabid Doll, is making final preparations to head out to California next week for the annual convention, and we're really going all out this year. We're sending five -- yes, five -- reporters to the convention this year, including me. And thank God, too, because I tried to iron man last year's convention, and I was wiped out before the first day even ended. This time, I will be attending once again along with our associate news editor Bryant Griffin for the first time, our community engineer Shane Churchman -- who happens to live in San Diego already ...
