History greenlights “Kevin Hart Presents: The Black Man’s Guide to History,” a look at lesser-known, yet important black history stories, filtered through the lens of Kevin Hart. Hart will star and executive produce the two-hour event from Hartbeat Productions and Comedy Dynamics.
The show will air in 2017.
The show begins as Hart finds his daughter upset after watching the film 12 Years A Slave believing that black history appears to only be about slavery and oppression. This prompts Hart to begin educating her through scripted re-enactments about fascinating historical figures that people may not have heard about before such as: Matthew Henson, the first person to go to the North Pole, but did not receive the credit; Robert Smalls, a former slave who led a revolt on a Confederate warship and pretended to be the captain to evade capture; Mae Jemison,...

The Bidite nation knows how heavily I've campaigned for MTV's pseudo doc/mocumentary series, Death Valley. The first season kicked absolute ass, and while the show hasn't toppled ratings charts, it's a program well worth a second season. Up until this point we've had virtually zero indication that MTV had any interest in continuing on with the show; that all just changed about five minutes ago. Death Valley executive producer, Tim Healy didn't h…...

It seems like horror has been good to the MTV network - they saw their ratings surge last year when they hosted several modern horror classics on their network, and their newest genre show, "Teen Wolf", has done phenomenal ratings numbers and has already been picked up for a second season.
On August 29th MTV is looking to build on its horror repertoire with the brand new horror-comedy "Death Valley", which premieres at 10:30 pm/9:30 pm Ct. The series follows the ‘Undead Task Force’ (Utf), a newly formed division of the Lapd, documentary-style, as they capture the monsters that roam the streets of California’s San Fernando Valley. In a world where vampires, werewolves and zombies live freely, “Death Valley” is a fun, comedic non-stop thrill ride featuring chases, hardcore kills and bizarre encounters.
