Howard Kaylan called themselves
Flo and Eddie, in the years after The Turtles disbanded, because their contract with White Whale Records prohibited them from using their own names in billings without the label's permission. Years later, when White Whale's master recordings were sold at auction, the pair submitted the winning bid for Yhe Turtles' masters, and became the owners of their own recordings.
