- In 1995, Xia Meng was honored the Chinese Film Stars Special Award, in conjunction with 90 anniversary of Chinese Cinema.
- She herself is Beijing Opera enthusiast, and has made occasion appearance in some some related stage performance.
- 'Han Hsiang Li' abandoned the project of filming "Fragrance Princess" , a film exclusively written for her, as he unable to borrow Xia Meng from Great Wall Studio, due to political reason.
- Inspired by Shakespere's A Midsummer Night's Dream,she was stage-named as Xia Meng by Yang'an Yuan (literally means Summer dream) , which Yuan metaphorically wished her dream come true as she joined the studio in summer.
- It has been widely reported that Louis Cha has deep affection towards Xia Meng, apparently Cha joined the studio as a scriptwriter to be near her. She was Cha's muse, inspiring him to model the ethereal Xiaolongnv character in his novel The Return of the Condor Heroes.
- Xia Meng's performance in Peerless Beauty (1953) and A Widow's Tears (1956) won her the Greatest Individual Achievement Award given by the Cultural Ministry of the People's Republic of China.
