Franceasca Seiden is a director, writer, producer and photographer. She
is the co-creator and founder of 3GZ Productions, an independent film
production company dedicated to making films inspired by generations of
music and underground culture. Her short films, Out of Sync and The
Theater have been featured at the Miami Beach Cinematheque's "Women In
Film" and "Experimental Film & Video Night" which she served as
Creative Director. Wicked Garden, her 3rd short film has been shown at
the Washougal Film Festival and Treasure Coast Film Festival. Seiden
last directorial film Second Act is a story of two Brazilian women who
come to the U.S. with the hopes of breaking into acting. She was an
instructor for Florida Film Institute teaching high school students a
hands on approach on filmmaking using 16mm. In 2006 her students won
The Fort Lauderdale Film Festival "Best Short Film" award. Seiden
served as the executive producer and producer of the award winning and
internationally acclaimed feature documentary Darkbeat an Electro World
Voyage. A futuristic educational film reliving the years when hip-hop
emerged and transformed into international electro beats. Darkbeat is
an official selection in over ten international film festivals and won
best documentary in the Miami Underground Film Festival. The film
toured European festivals in November '07 including the groundbreaking
Sheffield Documentary Film Festival.
As creator of 3GZ Productions, Franceasca continues to work on numerous narrative films, music videos and documentaries. She is currently in development on her first feature film and set to direct Cake, a black comedy, set in New York in the spring of '09. Seiden received her BFA in Visual Arts/Photography from International Fine Arts College and MFA in Film Production from Miami International University of Art & Design, Franceasca has worked with MTV, National Lampoon, A & R Biz, and Universal Music, Fox Television and Art Fairs, Inc among others. Seiden is a freelance writer/ photographer for Death and Taxes Magazine and FX Network.
Seiden and her partner Iris, B. Cegarra have been featured in several of publications, television interviews and websites. The Miami Herald and Miami New Times have featured Franceasca and her 3GZ co-founder Iris B. Cegarra as the up and coming voice of Miami's filmmaking generation. She is heavily involved with Miami and Los Angeles's film, art and music community. Franceasca is creator and curator of Ultra Music Festival 2009's first video installation dubbed the Ultra Video Lounge. She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
