TERRY A. LINGNER
As a producer and coordinating producer for the first decade of ESPN, Lingner helped build the reputation of the network as the "Worldwide Leader in Sports". Terry was CEO of Lingner Group Productions, a national packager for sports and entertainment, and is currently co-owner at INNOVATIVE, a creative agency in Indianapolis. Terry, his wife Louise, and son, Chris, were producers for the Broadway hit revival: On the Town, nominated for four Tony Awards.
Lingner is a five-time Emmy Award recipient. The first for "Outstanding Sports Series" as coordinating producer for ESPN's SpeedWorld. He was recognized with a second Emmy for outstanding technical achievement for "Point of View" technology involving a camera mounted in the racing surface at Indianapolis Raceway Park. The third Emmy was awarded for "Live Event Turnaround" for the Atlanta Olympic Games. The fourth and fifth were earned while directing for Red Bull Media House.
Terry has producer and director credits as diverse as anyone working in television today including: The Grand Opening of the Palm Jumeirah Island and Atlantis Hotel Dubai in 2008, The Beijing Winter Olympic Games, X Games, The Aspen Songwriters Festival, Red Bull Rampage, Plane Swap, and Crashed Ice, "The Fifty" a five-hour documentary highlighting the 50 year anniversary of NASCAR (Hosted by Craig T. Nelson), The NFL Draft, he began the Mecum Auctions, U.S. Pro Ski Tour, The Indy 500, LeMans, and developed the NCAA Basketball Whip Around Coverage.
Terry has been honored with Indiana's "Sagamore of the Wabash" by former Governor Evan Bayh. The Sagamore is the highest honor that the Governor bestows. It is a personal tribute given to those who rendered distinguished service to the state or to the governor. During the pandemic, Terry and INNOVATIVE assisted Governor Eric Holcomb and Dr. Kris Box with Covid-19 crisis management messaging by producing daily press conferences and over 150 PSAs, infographics, and videos.
In Nov '22, team INNOVATIVE was awarded The Indiana Sports Corps' Pathfinder Award. Former recipients incude Condoleezza Rice, Larry Bird, Dick Vitale, Jack Nicklaus among others.
Lingner is the Executive Producer for screen and Imag content for The Jim Irsay Collection Band that tours major markets in the USA and soon in Europe.
On the Walter Mitty front, Lingner has professionally raced at Daytona, LeMans, Sebring and The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Terry and Louise reside in Indianapolis. Son, Christopher, was a principal with Indianapolis Ballet and son Cory is a performer on Broadway.
