Grew up in Detroit and started boxing at the age of 8 at the world famous Kronk gym in Detroit under the guidance of hall of fame trainer Emanuel Steward. He
compiled an amateur record of 136-12. Three time U.S national champion
and a finalist in the Olympic trials. As a professional he compiled a
record of 20 wins and 2 losses. Won the North America middleweight
championship and was rated as high as 4th in the world by the W.B.O.
and 6th by the W.B.C. Was also one of sixteen fighters chosen worldwide
to compete on NBCs "The Contender" Season One. Was voted back as a fan favorite to fight in the finale of the show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
