He made his Irish radio debut in 1949. He has become the voice of
Gaelic games on RTE Radio (Ireland) with his stirring account of the
action on the field and his vast knowledge of the history of Gaelic
games.
His autobiography 'From Dun Sion to Croke Park' was published in
2004
He was both a primary and secondary school teacher before taking to the
airwaves. His radio career began in 1949 after winning a competition to
be an assistant commentator in RTE.
