Sarah Smith is best known as a Production Manager on numerous Television Series and Documentaries as well as live concerts and Commercials. Having trained and then worked at the BBC she went freelance in her early twenties and has worked with many notable independent companies since including Insight News, Nutopia, Passion Pictures and Lemonade Money.
She also owns and runs the production company, Timeworks Films which is currently in post production with three documentaries that it has independently produced. On two of these she acted as Director; these are 'One Nation Under A Groove', now in post production and 'Return of The Prince' also in final post.
'One Nation Under a Groove' was filmed over five years and showcases both her love and appreciation of live music with multi camera Direction alongside an ability to procure intimate and honest interviews from top level celebrity talent as well as a skill for 'fly on the wall' storytelling. Acting as Editor and Co-Director on this access all areas feature length doc about The Southport Weekender is Simon 'Schoolboy' Phillips; also an original resident DJ from the event.
With 'Return of The Prince' she not only Directed but also picked up a camera when funds would not allow for a crew. Scheduled for release in 2018 this doc is a biography of Boxer and Activist, Mark Prince who has his accompanying autobiography book release scheduled nationwide for April 2018.
With 'The Double Life of Norman Wexler', she teamed up with Director Jillian Edelstein and Producer, Eric Loren to create a touching and intimate expose of the Hollywood scriptwriter, Norman Wexler who suffered with bi-polar disorder but still managed to write five award winning films including Saturday Night Fever. They are negotiating a worldwide sales release for the film in 2018.
Her career as a Production Manager has been largely defined by managing documentaries and series for mainstream international broadcasters including the BBC, Discovery, Channel Four, National Geographic, Channel 5 and CBC. With Timeworks Films she has focused on work that has more personal resonance.
