Phil Grogan(1909-1970)

Songwriter ("Peachy Pie"), composer and author, educated at the
University of Oklahoma. He worked on a midwestern newspaper and radio
station, then became the manager and publicist for a dance band. During
World War II, he was a news correspondent in North Africa, and later
wrote a revue for a War Bond drive. He became a public relations
manager for a record manufacturer, and then a managing editor for a
music trade publication and a television writer. Joining ASCAP in 1950,
his other popular-song compositions include "Especially for You", "How
Can You Pretend?", "Spring is In My Heart", and "On the
Rebound".
