A noted jazz guitarist, Ron Muldrow was primarily associated with jazz
saxophonist Eddie Harris. Although influenced by the late Wes
Montgomery, Muldrow's first paying gig was with the soul/gospel group
the Staple Singers. Besides being a performer who at times fronted his
own band and jazz quartet, Muldrow wrote guitar instruction books and
taught musical theory and practice in a number of colleges. He was
survived by a son, two daughters, a grandchild, and a brother.
