Chelsea footballer who first came to England in 1998 following a
successful trial with Bolton Wanderers. He started off his career in
his native Iceland with local club FC Valur before moving onto Holland
to sign for PSV Eindhoven where he played alongside the Brazilian
superstar Ronaldo as a teenager but a badly broken ankle threatened to
end his career more or less as soon as it had begun prompting a return
to Iceland with local club KR Reykjavik, but in the summer of 1998
Colin Todd, then manager of Bolton managed to help resurrect his career
and after two years with the Trotters he moved onto Chelsea for a £4
million fee, a bargain it seems for such an accomplished striker.
