He went on to play under the direction of Guy Pierre Couteau in Les Mains Sales, Daniel Mesguich in La Tempête, Pascal Tédès in Les Rôdeurs et les Villes, Anne Bourgeois in La Mouette, as well as Jean-Luc Moreau, Jean-Marie Villégier, Antonia Malinova...
He has appeared in numerous shorts, films and TV movies: Plus belle la vie, J'aime ma Télé (awarded by Canal +), Chère Marianne, R.I.S. Police Scientifique, Une Famille Formidable, as well as Deux Frères, a feature film directed by Xavier de Choudens.
Author of several dramatic works, Les Souterriens, Alice et Azlan, le Journal d'un Pou. Stéphane Russel has also adapted Shakespeare's Macbeth. He has also tried his hand at directing: Jean et Béatrice by Carole Fréchette, and most recently Dreyfus, l'Affaire, one of the hits of the 2013 Avignon Festival.
