- Jared Tyler comes from Tulsa, Oklahoma, a state that has produced many musicians that defy or even invent their own musical categories, from Woody Guthrie to today's avant-garde Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. Tyler is such an artist. He began collaborating with Russ Titelman after meeting through Mary Kay Place. Mary Kay and Jared were working on Killer Diller, a film directed by Tricia Brock, featuring Fred Willard, Lucas Black, Will Lee Scott, and veteran blues artist Taj Mahal. Jared made his film debut in the role of "Raymond". Killer Diller will be independently released November 2005.
Besides touring alongside legendary singer-songwriter Malcolm Holcombe, Jared has been the supporting act for a wide range of artists and bands such as Emmylou Harris and Buddy Miller, Nickel Creek, Merle Haggard,Wilco, Hank Williams III, Catpower, Shelby Lynne, Dave Wilcox, Shannon Lawson, Willis Alan Ramsey, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, BR549, and many more.
