One thing you’ve gotta say about The Voice’s Lucia Flores-Wiseman: Nobody is on the fence about her. I was a fan from the first time I heard the 22-year-old, when her Blind Audition inspired her future coach Adam Levine as well as John Legend, Michael Bublé and Kelsea Ballerini to turn their chairs.
A lotta viewers seemed to share my admiration for Flores-Wiseman, too. In fact, when I dared to give her Knockouts rendition of Benson Boone’s “Slow It Down” a grade of C- — largely owing to it having been absolutely the wrong song choice for her — boy,...

The Voice Season 27 advanced to the "Playoffs" stage of the competition on Monday. In this round, each coach brings their team of five to the stage for a single performance that will determine which two move on the live shows. By the end of the round's 20 performances, only eight artists will remain in the competition. Mega Mentors Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes assisted Team Kelsea Ballerini and Team Adam Levine in the rehearsals leading up to the April 28 episode.

It was decision time for Kelsea Ballerini and Adam Levine in Monday’s episode of The Voice as Season 27’s Playoffs forced them to cut their five-member teams down to two contestants apiece. (John Legend and Michael Bublé land in the hot seat next Monday.) After hearing the performances, I thought that the coaches’ decisions would be pretty cut-and-dry. But no, as always, they surprised me. (It that a contractual obligation?) Read on, and we’ll discuss how it all went down.

The Voice Season 27 continued the third stage of the competition on Monday with the third installment of "Knockouts" performances. In this round, each coach will set four head-to-head matchups from their team and will be forced to choose only four winners. While they won't be able to save any of the losers from their own team, each coach will have a Steal to bring a loser from another team with them to "The Playoffs." By the end of the round's 16 performances, 20 artists will remain in the competition.
One hallmark of this round is that the artists get to choose their own song to perform rather than have it selected by their coach, as was done in the "Battles." Another is that without guest mentors assisting during rehearsals, it's the first time that John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé and Adam Levine get to work one-on-one with the artists on their team.

NBC's The Voice is adding even more star power to its 27th season. Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sheryl Crow and internationally acclaimed superstar LeAnn Rimes will serve as mega mentors on the four-time Emmy Award-winning series.
Rimes, a coach on The Voice UK and The Voice Australia, joins John Legend and Adam Levine. Crow joins coaches Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé to mentor the remaining artists as each team prepares for the Playoffs, kicking off April 28.
Crow is a nine-time Grammy winner who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023. Her first nine studio albums have sold 35 million copies worldwide. Rimes has sold more than 48 million units globally and won two Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist at age 14, making her the youngest solo artist to take home a Grammy. Her ballad “How Do I Live” holds the record as Billboard’s Hot 100 all-time number...

Night 1 of The Voice’s Season 27 Knockouts left me feeling like I’d been sucker-punched — repeatedly. Over and over again, the coaches‘ decisions made me wonder if they’d been watching the same show that you and I had. On the plus side, at least I managed to not get weepy like poor Kelsea Ballerini, who was reduced to tears by the combination of a very ill dog and a very moving performance. Join me in the ring, why don’t ya, and we’ll discuss everything that went down in Monday’s Knockouts (which, it bears mentioning, allowed the...

The Voice Season 27 continued the second stage of the competition on Monday with the third installment of "Battles" performances. In this round, each coach enlisted the help of an industry advisor as they counseled pairs of artists set to take the stage in head-to-head battles where only one would emerge victorious. Country group Little Big Town joined Kelsea Ballerini, entertainment icon Kate Hudson supported Adam Levine, R&b songstress Coco Jones was brought on board by John Legend, and Wicked Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo held space with Michael Bublé. Each coach has been refreshed with two advantages to use during the Battles: a Save, to keep a battle loser on their team, and a Steal, to snatch a battle loser from one of the other teams.

The competition continues to heat up on Season 27 of The Voice as the second week of Battle Rounds took place on Monday (March 17), with the coaches faced with more tough decisions. Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, John Legend, and Adam Levine returned to the famous red chairs to watch their team members fight it out in a series of thrilling performances, but only 12 contestants moved through to the next round. The evening kicked off with Team Legend’s Ari Camille and Bryson Battle facing off in a stunning showdown as they performed “Made for Me” by Muni Long. Legend ultimately picked Battle as the winner, but the journey wasn’t over for Camille, as both Levine and Ballerini hit their Steal buttons. Even though Ballerini gave her best pitch, in the end, Camille chose to join Team Adam and will remain in the competition. Next up was Team Adam’s Hayden Grove and Lucia Flores-Wiseman,...

The Voice Season 27 continued on Monday with the fifth and final batch of Blind Audition performances. After Episode 4, the teams of John Legend, Adam Levine and Michael Bublé had two open spots while Kelsea Ballerini still had three. Each of the coaches had also already deployed each of their single-use advantages, the Coach Replay and the Block. That means that going into the last day of the first round, the artists themselves would have a majority of the power to decide which coach they'd move forward with.
Over the course of the night, only one artist had the pick of the litter with all four judges turning their chairs — that was Guyanese native Jay Ammo with his performance of "The A Team." John said that he has a "lovely voice" and felt it "floating through the room" as he played. Adam agreed, in a sense, calling his voice "ethereal" and...

The Voice Season 27 continued on Monday with the fourth batch of Blind Audition performances. Adam Levine maxed out his advantages during Episode 3, blocking one artist from picking Kelsea Ballerini and then using his Coach Replay to scoop up another. He also won his fourth four-chair turn of the season. Going into day four, John Legend was the only one with a Coach Replay still to use. Returning champion Michael Bublé came into the night ready to fight hard for artists he liked, but Kelsea was not going to let him get away with any of them too easily. By the end of the night, they went head-to-head in competition for four different artists.
The first one Michael was keen on pulling on to his team was 19-year-old Texan Hailey Wright representing her Choctaw heritage with pride. Michael and Kelsea were the only coaches that turned for her performance of Freddy Fender...

Night 4 of The Voice’s Blind Auditions was pretty much par for the course for Season 27 so far: Some Ok performances and a couple of pretty good ones. But at the end of Monday’s episode, the sing-off ushered onto the stage a showstopper whose vocal was so ear-opening, she not only moved all four coaches to swivel their chairs, she wowed even me. What did you think? Read on, and we’ll discuss.
Kolby Cordell (Team Legend), “Never Too Much” — Grade: B | Kolby’s take on Luther Vandross’ smash inspired both John and Michael to turn their chairs for him.

The Voice‘s blind auditions continue on Monday (February 24), and at least one contestant will have the whole coaching panel on their feet. In TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek at the episode, Lucia Flores-Wiseman, a 22-year-old from Maple Valley, Washington, knocks everyone’s socks off with her powerful performance of “La llorona” by Ángela Aguilar. Adam Levine‘s chair turns at the first note, and Michael Bublé quickly follows. It doesn’t take long for coaches Kelsea Ballerini and John Legend to follow suit upon hearing her soulful delivery of the Spanish-language song. “What is your name, you magical human being?” Kelsea Ballerini asks first. After Lucia’s answer, Ballerini adds, “That made me weirdly emotional. Did you guys feel that?” “If it didn’t, you guys don’t have a soul,” Levin jokes in response. “I was very teary,” Ballerini continues. “Well, no notes. I really just want...
