- New York Restaurateur. Was the son of Mervyn LeRoy and his second wife Doris Warner. He was the grandson of Harry M. Warner. He was 65 at his death.
- Warner Leroy - who was known for his huge collection of loud, custom-made jackets and equally ebullient personality - created Maxwell's Plum, the legendary Upper East Side restaurant and singles bar that was a sensation in the 1970s. He went on to create Tavern on the Green and later bought the Russian Tea Room, which closed in 2002, one year after Warner's death
