George Preston Marshall was born on October 11, 1896 in Grafton, West Virginia, USA. He was married to Corinne Griffith and Elizabeth Mortensen. He died on August 9, 1969 in Georgetown, Washington, District of Columbia, USA.
Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963.
Founding owner of the Washington Redskins. The team began in Boston as
the Boston Braves in 1932. The team name was changed to the Boston
Redskins in 1933. In 1937 the team moved and became the Washington
Redskins. Owned the team until his death in 1969.
