One of the last reels of the series shows the protagonist passing through a dark tunnel into the light, metaphorically telling that there is light at the end of tunnel in terms of possibilities of curbing and dealing with the black money mafia. Kaala seems to be derived from the term ‘Kaala Paisa’ or ‘Black Money’. Earlier filmmakers dealt with the counterfeit notes mafia in ‘Farzi’, this time around Bejoy Nambiar’s ‘Kaala’ deals with ‘Hawala’ dealings. From the director who made thrillers like Shaitan, David & Wazir, Kaala adds to his exceptional storytelling repertoire and introduces us to the term ‘Reverse Hawala’ – converting white money into black and pumping huge stash of cash for illicit activities including terrorism.
Kaala is set against the backdrop of chaotic Kolkata, a riveting tale of love, loss, betrayal and irony. With young and ambitious Ib officer Ritwik Mukherjee (Avinash Tiwary) life seems like a series of random events,...

Imran Khan, who took a break from acting, has been active on social media lately. Despite his hiatus from the limelight, the actor recently delighted fans by sharing a collection of previously unreleased behind-the-scenes snapshots from his 2010 film “Break Ke Baad,” in which he starred opposite Deepika Padukone.
He shared a series of pictures and captioned, ‘In the summer of 2010, I went to Mauritius to shoot Break ke Baad. We swam every day, ate a lot of seafood, sampled Mauritian rum (potent), and made some friends for life. It was a blast. Apparently, in between all the revelries, we managed to make a film as well. This one always had a special place in my heart, because of how much I enjoyed making it. I can’t show you many of the behind the scenes photographs, as it may compromise the modesty of certain individuals… but here’s a glimpse.

Actress Swara Bhasker is undergoing action workshops with action directors to prepare for the role of a police officer in crime thriller series "Flesh".
An Eros Now's show, "Flesh" revolves around the global human trafficking industry and how a police officer takes matters onto herself.
"It's exciting and obviously intimidating as well. Brave and honest police officers are the real heroes of our society and it has been a real learning experience to know about the challenges and limitations within which cops in India operate," Swara said in a statement.
"I think that women in the forces - whether it's the armed forces or law enforcement agencies - are very special because as a society we expect men to be protectors and enforcers and women to be providers. So female police officers are actually stretching the limits of traditionally prescribed gender roles and I find that very inspiring," she added.

Although Section 377 remains in place, and continues to criminalize homosexuality in India, social change is a powerful wave that cannot be stopped.
Bollywood, in particular commercial Bollywood, has been famous for love stories. The formula of boy meets girl has been applied and re-applied again and again, becoming the “norm” – with small room for change.
Breaking the “norm” and challenging the taboo of homosexuality, it is almost time for Bollywood to present a main stream, same-gender, homosexual love story.
Directed by Break Ke Baad’s Director Danish Aslam, Balaji have announced their new production, Romil and Juggal.
Portraying two men falling in love, Romil and Juggal is a love story inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with the script written by Anu Menon, writer and director of London, Paris New York.

While several renditions of Shakespeare’s historic romance Romeo and Juliet have been attempted, trust Balaji Motion Pictures to do something different and daring. The prolific production house has announced “Romil and Juggal”, a hilarious and heart-warming re-imagination of Romeo and Juliet, except that both the protagonists are male!
A first-of-its-kind entertainer, “Romil and Juggal” looks to break stereotype as the coming-of-age romance, never seen before on Indian celluloid and explores what it means to stand out from the crowd of Macho India.
While details of the film are tightly being kept under wraps, given the subject of the film, news has it that two fresh faces will be launched by Balaji for this bold yet emotional, romantic saga.
The film goes on floor in May. Kunal Kohli’s assistant Danish Aslam (“Break Ke Baad”- Imran Khan / Deepika Padukone) will direct this quirky romance.

For those who are sick and tired of hearing William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and seeing its umpteen versions on screen, this piece of news will surely act as a breath of fresh air. Producer Ekta Kapoor has now signed director Danish Aslam, (who made his directorial debut with Break Ke Baad) to direct the Shakespearean tale... with a gay twist to it!
Danish feels that we tend to go to extreme ends when it comes to dealing with topic of homosexuality in our films by making it either hilarious or too serious. His film however will be realistic but not exceptionally dramatic. The details of the cast are still awaited.

'Break Ke Baad' (2010)
Starring Deepika Padukone, Imran Khan
Director Danish Aslam makes a respectable debut with 'Break Ke Baad,' a stylish rom-com about breaking up. At the outset, the couple is genuinely in love, but already pretty broken. Abhay (Imran Khan) does all the giving, Aaliya (Deepika Padukone) does all the taking—but it isn't her fault Abhay is dependable to a fault and frankly, boring. She wants to spread her wings and fly, but Abhay is content to coast without any purpose excepting loving the increasingly frustrated Aaliya. Call her selfish or smothered, she takes off for Australia and has the time of her life, living at the beach with carefree friends and pursuing her lifelong dream of acting. Long-distance love inevitably doesn't work out and Aaliya breaks up with Abhay—but he shows up in Australia to win her back and unwittingly figures out how to get a life.

Break Ke Baad starring Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone opened to mixed response when it released last Friday (Nov 26). However, the film produced by Kunal Kohli in association with Reliance Big Pictures and directed by debutant director Danish Aslam, seems to be on safe grounds mainly thanks to its correct economics. In fact the production costs of the film (excluding P & A), 18 crores, had largely been recovered through the sale of satellite and music rights itself and despite the film opening to weekend collections of Rs. 10.5 crore nett, it does seem like a profitable venture for its makers. Also Break Ke Baad has had some refreshing marketing tie ups, with brands such as Kit Kat, Close Up, Zen Mobile, Venus soaps and Da Milano. These brands have spent money close to the tune of Rs. 2 crores on TV spends in prime slots. The marketing has been innovative, and different, thereby making an impact.

Cast: Imran Khan, Deepika Padukone; Director: Danish Aslam; Rating: 3 out of 5.
The modern traits of the youngsters, in connection with the relationships, are dealt in the film Break Ke Baad. The ill-fated verity is that a particular story in an Indian cinema gyrates around a subject and sticks to the very old issue at the conclusion, though commenced with a novel start. Forget it, the smooth handling of the story of the current film led to perplexity at some spot. However, the volatility of the younger.

They share a steamy kiss in the movie. For Deepika Padukone, kissing on-screen is not a big deal and she is comfortable with the idea but for Imran Khan kissing his co-star is as difficult as a fight scene. If there.s something unusual about their pairing then it.s their height. The tall talk actually led to breaking the ice between .Break Ke Baad. co-stars Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone before shooting for the film began.Producer Kunal Kohli had thrown a party for the entire movie crew before shooting started so the team could get to know each other. Someone at the party clicked a picture of the leading actors together.Suddenly after looking at the picture, everyone realised that Imran at 5′10″ is actually taller than Deepika who is 5′9″. The pair.s height became such a hot topic at the party that they were actually measured with a measuring tape..Imran and I knew each other before, but just socially. (but) that incident really helped us break the ice,. Deepika said in a statement.Directed by Danish Aslam, .Break Ke Baad. is a film about space needed in relationships.

Break Ke Baad is everywhere and as the cast and crew toured the west, they found themselves in the Big Apple this weekend. Minus Kunal Kohli, Imran Khan found himself bombarded with questions regarding the film. An honest Imran went on to openly admit he "wasn't into the script" when he heard it for the first time. But after debutant director Danish Aslam made some fine tweaks to the script, he found himself saying yes. "Danish changed the script and after a "Break Ke Baad" he approached me again," he joked regarding the film. The film has a youthful feel to it; almost reminiscent of I Hate Luv Storys. However, Imran feels otherwise. "My role is different to the one I played in I Hate Luv Storys. This character is more close to real life. He is more on the quieter side," he explained. He went on to describe his...

If there's one thing that Deepika Padukone found relaxing while shooting for her upcoming film 'Break Ke Baad', it was a foot massage by her co-star Imran Khan.Deepika was surprised when she found that Imran, who had to give her a foot massage for a particular scene, was actually quite good at it, a source said.'Deepika was in for a big surprise when Imran gave her the best foot massage she ever had. She had no idea that Imran could have that skill,' he added.Apparently, his massaging skills became so popular on the sets that whenever the unit had a long schedule or anyone's feet used to hurt, they rushed to Imran.'Break Ke Baad', produced by Kunal Kohli and directed by Danish Aslam, is a film about space needed in relationships.

My birdy from Bandra is pleading with me to hear an item on Danish Aslam, who’s making his directorial debut with the Imran Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Break Ke Baat. Aslam bhai showed the film to his biwi Shruti Seth recently. She was in tears by the end of the film and couldn’t stop raving about it to her pati. But Aslam doesn’t seem to be the one to fly with flattery. Suna hai, he told her that she was being biased. If criticism makes him happy, I suggest he wait for the film to release. ...

Break Ke Baad has a very young team. Right from the director Danish Aslam to the actors Imran Khan, Deepika Padukone, Shahana Goswami, Yudhishtir Urs as well as the crew members are all young. Naturally, the mood on the sets was always relaxed and happy.
In fact, on packing up, they organized a lot of parties as well. But here's the flip side. The director of the film Danish Aslam had made it a rule that no one would be allowed to go clubbing if an early-morning shoot was to follow.
That's not all. No one on the sets was allowed to use a cellphone. If someone's phone rang he/she would pay a fine, ranging from 500 to 5000 depending on the person's responsibility.
And the money collected would then be spent on weekend partying.
Watch this space because we have loads of interviews coming up all for Break Ke Baad!

New Delhi, Nov 9 – Bollywood heart-throb Imran Khan has revealed that he will have a court marriage with fiancee Avantika Malik to avoid committing his big day to any particular religion.
The actor, 27, has taken inspiration from Danish Aslam, the director of his upcoming movie ‘Break Ke Baad’. Aslam opted for the same procedure to tie the knot with his actress wife Shruti Seth to avoid any religious clash.
‘I am from a Muslim family and Avantika belongs to a Hindu family. I personally didn’t want to commit our wedding to one religion or another. We felt the best way for us was that we would keep it neutral and have a court.

Mumbai, Nov 9 – Debutant director Danish Aslam was not interested in telling another run-of-the-mill love story and so he decided to explore space issues in relationships in his forthcoming film ‘Break Ke Baad’.
‘Space is a word that is used a lot in a modern relationship. It’s almost a break-up mantra. I wanted to explore that concept rather than a conventional love story where two people don’t know each other, meet and fall in love,’ Aslam told Ians.
‘I wanted to show what happens to two people, who have known each other for their entire life, if their relationship breaks. I found the concept more exciting.

Imran will tie the knot in the second week of January. Though Imran.s family members are known to be religious, they have never imposed it on him. In fact, it was Imran who was very confused about this for a long time. Deepika Padukone's character in Break Ke Baad has been modeled on her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. Deepika plays the commitment-phobic Aalia in her upcoming film. That her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor is commitment-phobic is well-known in the industry. They were in a two year long serious relationship that didn't bear much fruit.
When Deepika heard director Danish Aslam's narration of Break Ke Baad she couldn't believe the striking similarities that her character had with Ranbir's approach to love in real life. She went home dazed, wondering if she should attempt playing the role or not. She was faced with this dilemma at a time when her relationship with Ranbir was far from being perfect.
The actress chose to take up the challenge. While Deepika remains tight lipped about this, a very close friend of hers confirmed this story and said, "Knowingly or unknowingly, she has added some nuances to her...
