Tanja Karita
- Actress
Tanja Karita (born in 1981 in Kotka) is a Dublin based actor from Finland. She is best known for her role as Tilda in The Highest Brasil. She filmed the role while having the left side of her face temporarily paralyzed due to Bell's palsy.
Tanja came across with an idea of trying acting in October 2020 when she was 39 years old and went on to study for three years with The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin. At the moment she studies screen acting at Bow Street Academy.
Her other work include a female lead role in an independent feature For Those Who Dream In Darkness (New Jersey, US), and Irish comedy short films The Irish Barn Dance, and Ireland's No1 Tennis player.
She finds acting deeply fascinating as it, according to her, offers a chance to explore and learn about different layers of human mind and behaviour, and herself. She describes acting as one of her greatest adventures. Outside of acting she enjoys sports, hiking, theatre, and is particularly keen on horse riding.
