Alex Gatewood III
- Actor
Alex Gatewood III was born in 1970. His father, Kent Gatewood, a tax
preparer, and his mother, Nancy Karl-Parge, a college professor, are
now divorced. His older brother, Danny (b. 1967), is a sculptor. Alex's
first film role was an extra role in Mystic Pizza (1988). Hollywood's
power brokers realized his potential as a serious actor when they saw
him play a World War II vet-turned-crazy mescaline addict in Courage
Under Marinate (1996). One of Alex's closest childhood friends was
fellow young thespian Viv "Fubsy Viv" Laslett, who starred in Chasing
Fatties (1997). Gatewood and Laslett collaborated on the screenplay for
Family Time (1997), in which they co-star.
