Guerrilla Metropolitana is a London based Italian independent filmmaker. Formerly a musician with a background in the arts.
Inspired by Expressionism, Impressionism, Pop Art, Dark Erotica, French Nouvelle Vague, Underground photography, Neo Realism and experimental cinema, he decides to start creating and developing his own type of cinema, highly crafted with visuals, elaborated editing and photography;
deeply disturbing where the main focus as central theme is human madness and dysfunctionality.
He often works using purely "guerrilla" shots (no permits) and sometimes risking serious legal troubles due to unauthorised access to locations.
His debut was the YouTube short horror film "Bits" which attracted substantial attention in several Countries and had multiple reviews and interviews from podcasts and independent reviewers worldwide.
His two following YouTube short horror films "My special superhero" (a visual subtext of madness and rejection) and "The Baron and the harpsichord" continued in showing the development of his craft.
Guerrilla Metropolitana's following YouTube work was a controversial and highly experimental "documentary style" medium-length horror film about British film censorship and the elite titled "The Censor - A British horror tale of Real politics and social-moral code".
This too attracted substantial attention for both its unusual cinematographic style as well as the way the subject was visually narrated.
Finally, in 2023 his debut with the feature film "Dariuss" marked the ultimate level of cinematographic disturbance and craft.
Partially shot both in "guerrilla" style and with the use of meta-cinema, the film has a well studied structure of multiple layers of interpretations and where the level of realism brings the audience to a new level of engagement with the film itself.
Highly controversial in its nature with a high degree of blood and extreme sexual graphic violence, the film is a unique cinematographic journey.
A film that changes the traditional boundaries of classic filmmaking and brings the horror genre to a new and different level.
