- Ivana Shein is a second generation Canadian playwright and actor. The debut of her one woman play, Faking It, was selected to be performed at Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. Emmy nominee Richard J. Lewis (Westworld, CSI) directed Ms. Shein in a subsequent production at The Comedy Central stage in Los Angeles. Her short play, Single, was produced by LA's IAMA Theatre Company, with The Blacklist's Amir Arison directing. Ms. Shein has also acted in numerous television and web series, short and feature films and currently recurs on Shonda Rhimes ABC series, Station 19. The Company Theatre in Toronto is developing her full length play, The Lovers, inspired by Chagall's portrait of love made eternal by a kiss. Toronto is Ms. Shein's hometown. - Ivana Shein is a second generation Canadian playwright, who won Canada's Last Comic Standing was featured at Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival. Following in her father's footsteps she got her degree in playwriting from the National Theatre School of Canada. After graduating she appeared as a young Patricia Clarkson in Lucky McKee's THE WOODS, as well as the life changing role of Receptionist Number Two in Richard J Lewis's BARNEY'S VERSION. That role led to the creation of and ultimately the deception to the department of homeland security that Ms. Shein was more famous then she actually was, 'starring' along side Dustin Hoffman and Paul Giamatti. This life saving lie led to the creation of her one woman play FAKING IT which Richard J Lewis directed at The Comedy Central stage. FAKING IT was all also performed at Just For Laughs, and Upright Citizen Brigade. Her play SINGLE is now a pilot for the series THE MUSIC IN US also partnered with Richard J Lewis, and repped by ICM Partners that takes a deep dive into the work of Canadian music icons. When Cameron Crowe read the TMIU pilot he said, "thank you, Ivana, for knowing instinctively that all the best music comes from Canada".
