- Knew Bob Dylan in Minnesota in 1959 and were close during his years growing up in Minnesota. The two were in touch for several years after. She is believed to be the inspiration for "Girl from the North Country" which Dylan indicated on his "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" album liner notes was conceived in 1959. She recorded several songs by Dylan in her apartment that are widely distributed by collectors. "Bonnie, why did you cut my hair?" was written after she cut his hair at his request before he was to visit his parents in Hibbing.
- She has worked as Administrative Director (under the name Jahanara Romney) of Camp Winnarainbow since 1983. Her husband (under the name Wavy Gravy) serves as director of the camp, which is located near Laytonville, in Mendocino County, California. (August 2009)
