“I had the opportunity to go to culinary school for the last three years, graduated with a pastry arts degree, graduated with a culinary arts degree just recently, and so I wanted to include my Southern heritage, but also mix in some of the French techniques that I had been studying,” says “MasterChef 13” runner-up Jennifer Maune following her loss on Thursday night’s finale. “There was so much intensity and pressure. I wanted to do my absolute best to represent my hometown. I put my best foot forward and it was in the hands of the judges.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

“I definitely knew that I dropped the ball on the dessert,” says “MasterChef 13” runner-up Kennedy Grace following her loss on Thursday night’s finale. “It was such a disappointment because I had such huge expectations for my dessert. When it comes to the finale, you have a story and you want it to play out. My appetizer was very feminine, my entree was very masculine and I really wanted my dessert to come out as like, at the end of the night we all look at the same stars and the same universe. It hurt my heart that it didn’t go the way that I wanted it to.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

“I know I’ll never be able to experience that kind of emotion ever again,” says “MasterChef 13” winner Grant Gillon. “My knees buckled, I hit the floor. All that hard work, everything that I had been striving for trying to get this dream off the ground and realize it came to fruition. It just didn’t seem real in that moment.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

“It’s still replaying in my head over and over again,” says “MasterChef” contestant Charles Calvino following his elimination on Wednesday night’s episode. “Half of me was comfortable,” he says about being partnered up with Jennifer Maune for the tag team challenge. “Her mothering skills got the majority of the say-so. “It cost me everything,” says “MasterChef” contestant Sarah Fry while discussing the 10-minute time penalty the Midwest team was given on Wednesday night’s Mystery Box Challenge. “I couldn’t be upset because that’s the name of the game. You’re there to win. I love these people. But of course I was super upset…the other part of me is like, I probably would have done the same thing.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
Prior to the challenge, last week’s week’s winning team captain, Jennifer Maune, had the advantage of taking 10 minutes of another team’s cooking time. She chose the Midwest, which was still going strong with five remaining home cooks.
