Dave Homewood
Dave Homewood was born in Cambridge, New Zealand. He grew up with an interest in aviation, and at the age of 18 he joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force as a Safety and Surface Worker.
Developing a huge interest in the history of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, in 2003 he began researching the people of his home town and district who had served in the R.N.Z.A.F. and other Air Forces in WWII. He began interviewing surviving veterans and compiling the histories of those who were no longer around. He created the Wings Over Cambridge website to share the stories on.
In February 2005 Dave then created the Wings Over New Zealand Aviation Forum, a place where the public could ask questions and share information and photos about the R.N.Z.A.F. and New Zealand aviation. It went on to become New Zealand's biggest online site for aviation content.
In 2011 Dave created the Wings Over New Zealand Show, a spin-off podcast that shares first hand stories and interviews with people in the New Zealand aviation scene, past and present.
