Cruz Supat
- Music Department
Cruz Supat is a hybrid genre American rap artist/songwriter whose talents stem from his roots in Kingston Jamaica. He grew up in the "Southside" ghettos of Kingston, where he was surrounded by poverty and gang life.
One notable incident in his early years, being pistol whipped on his way home from school, caused him to start wearing a mask publicly as a means of concealing emotions.
Cruz Supat's connection to music sparked one evening when he was only nine years old, when he used one of his few dollars to play "Black Woman & Child" by Sizzla on an old local jukebox. Cruz's style of rap/hip-hop fuses the mainstream genre with elements of rock and trap, along with dance hall and reggae vibes originating from his native country, Jamaica. Real experiences are woven into his songs, a characteristic inspired by artists Buju Banton and Sizzla.
