Gerald 'Jerry' Fushianes is a American actor, writer and producer. He is best known as one of the architects of the Post Deployment Health Re-Assessment (PDHRA) program. The PDHRA was responsible for screening and re-connection returning guardsman and reservists with their medical and mental health benefits. As the initial Program Director he was the main conduit between the PDHRA program and the Department of Defense/Pentagon. His weekly briefings at the Pentagon were instrumental to the success of the program. Thr PDHRA used travel teams and a 24 hour call center to screen over 175,000 service members a year.
As an actor he performed in numerous community theater roles before being cast as David in the National Touring Cast of Youth Sing Praise's original show David, A Champion of Israel. The show was written and scored by Fr. Ronald Brassard and Chris Brubeck son of the world renounced jazz musician Dave Brubeck.
At the close of that run, Jerry retuned to college to complete his degree earning a Master of Science as a Physician Assistant, then ultimately earning a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc). He returned to community theater a few years ago performing a number of roles before accepting leadership role as President of the Area Community Theatre in Tomah, Wisconsin. In that role, Jerry worked on a number of local TV productions as the host of Skeezicks and the Best Burger Challenge.
In 2022 he joined with other talented writers to begin writing and developing an original TV series for the Hometown Stream Network called Manna: The Wafer King. This faith based dramaedy brings an ensemble cast to bring to life modern versions of parables. He continues as an Executive Producer and writer on the series.
