Julie Murphy(XIII)
- Actress
- Stunts
- Additional Crew
Julie Murphy (she/her) is a Canadian actor based in Vancouver, BC. She is originally from Alberta, and works locally in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary.
Playing age: 20s/30s. Natural blonde with a heart and smile as big as her blue eyes. She is a polite, bubbly and friendly sweetheart who is the first one to play the fool (and make jokes at her own expense) if it means lightening the mood or making people feel better. Sophisticated and graceful, she can swiftly brighten any atmosphere with her playful banter and uplifting energy.
And yet, behind her warm, cheerful disposition is an old-soul with strong command presence. She's secretly fed up with the way of the world, and feels compelled to fiercely defend anyone who's been left behind or forgotten... even if that's sometimes herself. Protector of righteousness, angry and sexual, she can intellectually seduce, physically fight, or emotionally manipulate her opposition in ways that often render them gobsmacked, enchanted - or both - in the end.
Julie is a valedictorian with a farm girl upbringing; a certified elementary school teacher who makes horror theatre; and ballet syllabus graduate with an impressive armoury of combat knives.
Think Leslie Knope (Amy Pohler) from "Parks and Rec" meets Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) from "The Handmaid's Tale". Or Kate McKinnon from "Saturday Night Live" meets Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) from "Vikings". Could play the sister of Gretchen (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) from "Prison Break", Eleanor (Kristen Bell) from "The Good Place", or Carla (Kathryn Hahn) from "Bad Moms". In the movie of Julie's life, her parents would be Jason Isaacs and Glenn Close.

Market Hits:
Ideal Role: A comedy/action/thriller playing the best friend who lives in the shadows and copes with her inferiority through humour and people-pleasing. But only to be seduced by the dark forces at work and eventually becomes the sick, twisted, murderous overlord who must fight all her friends in the final battle.

- Action/Stunt Fighting (unarmed, martial unarmed, sword, staff, knife; international certifications)

Market Hits:
- The young, sassy international arms dealer who puts on a confident facade in order to protect her son living in secrecy. Tough as nails, yet too ashamed to own up to her tumultuous past and run away with him forever,
- The vampire who proudly assumes the "enforcer" role for the upper echelon that rules the underclass of their species. Kills humans without a second thought, but crumbles when it comes to any assignment that conflicts with the undying love she has for her sired sisters
- The Victorian headmistress who runs her school stricter than a military camp, but behind closed doors, enjoys the company of many men (sometimes at the same time) and drinks like a sailor
- The female inmate "top dog" who dominates the prison's convict culture from inside --fiercely respected and feared. She rules with an iron fist, but does so to offer protection and keep the peace, not for power or her own self interest
- The friendly townsperson hunted down and persecuted under false accusations of witchcraft. Failing to prove her own innocence, she is warped by vengeance and decimates the town, becoming the monster she originally never could have
- The heroin addict who loses custody of her son to the seemingly more "put together" partner, but far worse parent. Turns her life around to win him back, but is betrayed and left to build a new life alone forever.
- The heir to a media mogul's empire who will stop at nothing to secure her position for inheritance, yet out of greed and fear, strikes all those down around her which she perceives as a threat, leaving nobody to support her once in power and fails anyways.
