James Densley
Dr. James Densley is a British-American social scientist best known as co-founder of The Violence Project and co-author of the bestselling book, The Violence Project: How to Stop a Mass Shooting Epidemic. He is the author or co-author of eight books and over 150 articles, book chapters, essays, and other works in outlets such as CNN, Education Week, The Guardian, HuffPost, The Los Angeles Times, Scientific American, TIME, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. His work has featured on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and he has appeared on BBC News, CBS This Morning, CNN Newsroom, Deadline: White House, Don Lemon Tonight, Face the Nation, Morning Joe, The New Yorker Radio Hour, NPR, PBS NewsHour, and other major news outlets. Densley earned his doctorate in sociology from the University of Oxford. He is a former middle school special education teacher and in 2017 he was awarded the Points of Light Award for outstanding community volunteerism by the UK Prime Minister.
