Dan Fisher(1920-2001)

Songwriter, author, producer and publisher, the son of Fred Fisher and
brother of Doris and Marvin Fisher. Following his high school
education, he became a song plugger for his father's publishing firm,
and later wrote special material for Billie Holiday, Mabel Mercer,
Mildred Bailey and Hope Emerson. He produced he plays "A Lady in
Danger", and "Springtime for Henry", and the road-company music for
"You Can't Take It With You" and "A Second String". He owned and
operated summer-stock theater companies, and owned and managed the Fred
Fisher Music Company and Marvin Music Company. Joining ASCAP in 1953,
he collaborated musically with Irene Higginbotham, Sammy Gallop and
Ervin Drake. His popular-song compositions include "Good Morning
Heartache", "No Pad to be Had", "I'm Reading Old Letters", "No Good
Man", "Fritzie", "Mama, Put That Skillet On" and "My Love May
End".
