Ryan M. Luévano (he/him) is an award-winning playwright, director, screenwriter, and talent manager in the greater Los Angeles area. Prior to launching Skyfire Artists, Ryan gained valuable experience as a talent manager at Mattie Management, where he had the privilege of working under the tutelage of industry veteran Mattie Webb, who boasts over two decades of experience. During his tenure at the company, Ryan honed his skills in pitching, client submissions, event attendance, and direct collaboration with some of Mattie's most prominent clients, such as Frankie McNellis (star of Netflix's "13"), Leah McSweeney (featured on "Real Housewives of New York City"), Ron Song (of "Jury Duty" fame), and Fabian Alomar (of "Flamin' Hot" renown).
He's worked as a professor of music at Woodbury University, Santa Ana College, and Rio Hondo College. He is also a board member of the Foundation for New American Musicals, a regular teaching artist at A Noise Within Theatre Company, a staff writer for Stage Raw, and a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
Recently, Ryan's musical "57 Bus" was selected for the Latine Musical Theatre Lab's Table Reading Series 2023, where he collaborated closely with dramaturg Amauta M. Firmino ('Slave Play'). In 2021, he was awarded the prestigious Artists-in-Residence title at Chateau d'Orquevaux in France and received the Denis Diderot Grant for his contributions to "57 Bus." Additionally, his play "La Lavadora" won the Full Circle Players' New Works Play Festival in 2021, and his new play "Dance Plague" premiered at Contra Costa School of Performing Arts in Walnut Creek, CA, in 2023. Notably, "La Lavadora" was a finalist in the 2023 New Works Festival at the Santa Monica Theatre Guild, held at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre, and a semi-finalist in the Screencraft Stage Play Competition.
