In a recent poll, Gold Derby asked “Australian Survivor” viewers to name the person they most wanted to win the current “Blood V Water” season and the results were, well, all over the place. Five contestants earned double-digit support in our poll results (see below), with “juicy” David Goodchild coming in first place at 25%. He’s the father of superfan Briana Goodchild, who was eliminated way back in the second episode. Editor’s note: this poll was conducted prior to the “Purgatory” twist that sent several voted out cast members to a deserted island in the hopes of one day returning to the game.
Here are the complete poll results for who “Australian Survivor” viewers claimed they wanted to win “Blood V Water”:
25% — David Goodchild
19% — Christine “Chrissy” Zaremba
13% — Shayelle “Shay” Lajoie
12% — Samantha “Sam” Gash
12% — Jordie Hansen
8% — Mark Wales
5% — Jesse Hansen
Less than 3% — Jordan Schmidt, Michelle Chiang, Josh Millgate, Kate...

The seventh episode of “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water” began with 19 players still left in the game: nine on the Red (Blood) tribe (after Jay Bruno was blindsided) and 10 on the Blue (Water) tribe. So who became the next castaway to have their torch snuffed by host Jonathan Lapaglia? Below, read our “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water” Episode 7 recap, which aired February 13, 2022 on Network 10 and 10play on demand.
1. Drop your buffs.
At the Blue camp, Alanna “Nina” Twine calls her tribe “very easy going.” She feels like she is in a good position and can make it to the end, just like her mother Sandra Diaz-Twine did twice on the American version. When the tribes arrive for the reward challenge, Sophie Cachia says she’s not surprised at all to see Jay gone, and that she’s happy some faces are still in the game. Jonathan tells the players...

After two weeks (that’s six episodes) of “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water,” Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine is still in the game. For all you “Survivor” fans who aren’t able to watch, Gold Derby recapped this week’s episodes — Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6 — and we’ll be covering the show all throughout the season. To help keep you up to speed on what’s going down Down Under, we’ll also be providing weekly power rankings of the players still in the hunt to become Australia’s ninth “sole survivor.”
This season is modeled after the 27th and 29th editions of the main franchise in that it features pairs of players connected by blood, all in the hopes of answering the age-old question: Is blood truly thicker than water? On Day 1, host Jonathan Lapaglia split those pairs up between two tribes: the Red tribe representing blood and the Blue tribe representing water.

The first two times Sandra Diaz-Twine played the game of “Survivor” (in “Pearl Islands” and “Heroes vs. Villains”), she won. The next two times she competed (in “Game Changers” and “Winners at War”), she lost. Specifically, she was voted out both of those seasons on Day 16. Now that she’s made it to Day 15 on “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water,” Sandra is understandably worried that the “Day 16 curse” is ready to strike her yet again.

The “Survivor” Queen reminded people about her so-called “curse” in the recent sixth episode. She reflected on her time in the game so far, saying she “can’t believe” she’s made it two weeks Down Under. The two-time American winner thanked the reality TV show for giving her more than she ever could have had on her own, including sending her daughter Alanna “Nina” Twine to college.

The sixth episode of “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water” began with 20 players still left in the game: 10 on the Blue (Water) tribe (after Alex Frost quit) and 10 on the Red (Blood) tribe. So who became the next person to have their torch snuffed by host Jonathan Lapaglia? Below, read our “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water” Episode 6 recap, which aired February 8, 2022 on Network 10 and 10play on demand.
1. The kid and the wicked witch.
It’s Day 13 at the Red camp, and 22-year-old Jesse Hansen jokes around with his tribe and reveals they have a nickname for him: “the kid.” He hopes he can use his playfulness to advance him far into the game. Meanwhile, over at the Blue camp, Sophie Cachia calls herself the “wicked witch of the outback” because her tribe(s) just can’t seem to get rid of her. Even though she’s safe, she knows she’s on the bottom.
