Eric Extreme, born Eric Matthew Goldberg, was born on July 17, 1979 in Worcester, Massachusetts. While growing up, Eric found that he had a great interest in astronomy, radio communications, and paranormal science.
At the age of 14, Eric joined a local non-profit educational group named Aldrich Astronomical Society, Incorporated which allowed him to further explore his interest in astronomy. For many years Eric taught astronomy at The Ecotarium, a science museum in Worcester, Massachusetts.
In late 1998, Eric joined a professional wrestling school to become trained as a professional wrestling referee and wrestler. In 1999, Eric was hired by Wrestling Alliance of Mayhem (WAM Wrestling) to be the President to help further advance the company until the company ceased operations in 2003 due to the wish of the management team to pursue other interests. Due to injuries, Eric had to retire from actively competing in professional wrestling in 2006. To this day, Eric has continued to be involved with other wrestling promotions in various roles including promoting, show operational management, and security. Over the years Eric has worked for nearly 20 professional wrestling promotions including major promotions such as Millennium Wrestling Federation (MWF) out of Massachusetts and New England Championship Wrestling (NECW) out of Massachusetts. In 2021, Eric is still working for Millennium Wrestling Federation as an Event Floor Manager.
In 2006, Eric, then a very active member of the group, was offered to take over the American Eagle SSB CBers Club, an organization for radio communication hobbyists who enjoy engaging in communication through a phenomenon known as Ionospheric Radio Wave Propagation. This hobby entails taking advantage of the ionosphere when it becomes electrically charged due to solar radiation and bouncing radio signals off of the atmosphere to speak to people across the globe using a Citizens Band Radio. The group was formed in 1992 and continues operating today with thousands of members.
Due to unexplainable experiences throughout child hood, Eric began pursuing an interest in paranormal science and parapsychology as a teenager. In 2008, Eric joined up with a local paranormal investigation team to begin empirical research into the field of study. After a few years of gaining experience with that team coupled with heavy study, in 2010, Eric created his own paranormal investigation team called Extreme Paranormal Investigators Consortium. Eric's team completed countless paranormal investigations for residential and commercial clients. Eric's team also worked along side the team from Ghosthunters and Ghosthunter's International television shows educating and leading investigations for the general public during their non-televised weekend long symposiums.
In 2009, Eric met Kristin Ingram through the paranormal investigation team. On May 20, 2011 they would begin dating and became engaged to be married on December 24, 2018.
In 2017, Eric moved to Conway, New Hampshire and renamed Extreme Paranormal Investigators Consortium to Mount Washington Valley SPIRIT (Scientific Paranormal Investigation, Research, and Interpretation Team).
In 2019, Eric passed the test to earn his first Amateur Radio License (Ham Radio) to further enjoy his hobby of radio communications. Eric is a member of the Mount Washington Valley Amateur Radio Club. Eric is also involved with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service, Carroll County's Citizen Emergency Response Team, and is an Emergency Medical Technician in Carroll County's Medical Reserve Corp.
To make a living over the years Eric had worked in various forms of management including restaurant, retail, and corporate security and safety. Eric has also worked as a firefighter/EMT. In 2021, at the age of 42, Eric entered semi-retirement and began focusing on his hobbies. On September 29, 2021, Eric created the Mount Washington Valley SPIRIT Podcast which would explore various subjects pertaining to paranormal investigations, paranormal science, and parapsychology.
