- Dirk Maggs was born in February 1955 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England, UK. He is a director and writer, known for The Sandman (2020), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Radio Show Live (2016) and Alien: Sea of Sorrows (2018).
- Was working with Douglas Adams on a radio adaptation of books 3-5 of Adams' "The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy" (a "5 book trilogy") at the time of Adams' death. Maggs then took up the mantle of completing the script adaptation (based on Adams' extensive notes) and directing the new episodes.
- Adapted/directed the new "Quandary Phase" episodes of "The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy" BBC4 radio series, from book 4 of the late Douglas Adams' "Hitch Hiker's Trilogy", "So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish".
- Has just been commissioned by BBC 4 to produce a series based on Douglas Adams books about private eye Dirk Gently, to start airing in October.
- Adapted/directed the new "Tertiary Phase" episodes of "The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy" BBC4 radio series, from book 3 of the late Douglas Adams' "Hitch Hiker's Trilogy", "Life, The Universe, and Everything".
