Remember Caine's Arcade? Last year, a video of Caine Monroy, a 10-year-old who created his own arcade out of cardboard boxes and trash in his dad's East Los Angeles used auto parts shop, went viral. Now Monroy's creativity has landed him an even bigger gig than viral video star - he's currently represented by William Morris Endeavor to appear at various speaking engagements, the talent agency has confirmed. The agency also represents some major stars, including Whoopi Goldberg, Ashley Judd, Julie Andrews and Tyra Banks. On Wme's website, Monroy is touted as "an example of what is possible in today's digital age.

Earlier in the year, we featured a wonderful short film made by Nirvan Mullick called Caine's Arcade, about an inventive 9-year-old kid in Los Angeles who built an awesome, elaborate arcade out of cardboard. The short caused a media explosion, and put the spotlight on his inspiration. He's back again as Nirvan has returned with Chapter 2 of Caine's Arcade, documenting the international phenomenon of imagination and invention that Caine has inspired, launching the Imagination Foundation, and a Global Cardboard Challenge (website) on October 6th next month. It's a fantastic follow-up to the original! Watch it below. "The idea is not only to give kids the tools to build the things they can imagine, but also imagine the world they can build." Thanks to David Markland (@davidmarkland) and Laughing Squid for the tip. This is the followup to the original Caine's Arcade short film. Five months after it was posted, Caine's...

Caine Monroy is my hero.
In case you missed it, Caine is the nine-year-old star of “Caine’s Arcade,” a short film that’s taken the Web by viral storm in the last few days. The true-to-life tale goes something like this: Boy spends a summer hanging out with his dad at his East Los Angeles auto parts store. Boy sees a lot of empty cardboard boxes. Boy turns those boxes into...

Who doesn't love a story about a child genius? Caine's Arcade , a short film that tells the story of a 9-year-old boy who built an arcade out of cardboard boxes at his dad's autoparts shop in East L.A., has gone viral, and E! News was lucky enough to snag an interview with the young bus inessman Caine Monroy and filmmaker Nirvan Mullick, who set up a foundation to help raise money for the young creator to go to college. And we'd say they've been pretty successful. "First day the video was up, it raised $60,000," Mullick told our own Jason Kennedy. "So then we raised the goal to $100,000, and now I think it's over $120,000." Yeah, that is one pretty big...

Wow. If you haven't seen this yet, you definitely need to. Not only is it a funny, heartwarming, inspirational story, but it's a great short film, boasting fantastic storytelling. There's a superb short going around called Caine's Arcade, directed by Nirvan Mullick, about this amazing 9-year-old kid named Caine who made his own home-made cardboard arcade. I know, it doesn't sound great, but just watch it, you'll understand the heart and the passion that this kid put into this (yea) and it's awesome. I love great short films that tell a great story, and this is a must watch. Nirvan, who is in this, deserves some credit, too. "This kid's a genius!" Many sites have been posting this recently, including Movies.com and Twitch. The short was posted online officially on Nirvan's Vimeo. I love that Caine's wearing a little blue "staff" shirt with "Caine's Arcade" on the back, just...

So will that be tokens or a points card or what?
Even though arcades are effectively an endangered species, that hasn't stopped one nine-year-old from constructing one out of cardboard in his father's auto parts shop. Caine Munroy built his own cardboard arcade and the video above documents what happens when he gets his first unexpected crop of customers.
Produced by Interconnected and directed by Nirvan, the short doc Caine's Arcade made its premiere last year at UCLA's Diy days, but you don't have to hunt it out (as one does with shorts). A complete short film is on the way according to the Caine's Arcade Facebook page.

Caine Monroy has a business to run, people! Yes, that business is a cardboard arcade that he made out in his dad’s auto-parts shop in East L.A., but still! Caine has a business card, an employee uniform and a bunch of calculators taped to the boxes for security. So, do you want to play the claw machine that he made himself out of a hook and some yarn, or do you want to stand there crying silently at all the heartbreaking sweetness in the world? Yes, it’s sweet that Caine’s only customer Nirvan Mullick made a short film about him, and then organized a flash mob on Reddit to stop by and play all of Caine’s cardboard games, but he’s got to make sure there’s a steady flow of nickels into this business. Caine isn’t made out of money here! He’s made...
