In the same year, Heper made his last film "The Pain of the Blackbattal", which focused on the East-West conflict. The film tells the story of a Turkish lad who was wrongly executed by accusing of killing a young Greek girl who was working on the repair of the Byzantine Castle. Alp Zeki Heper, a truly independent and highly valued Director, could not reach the cinemas and the audience due to the rejection of the distributors at that time, and because of his control and his own content and self-complexity.
