Tom Finegan(1926-2001)

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1926, Finegan, as he was known to all,
worked as a waterfront cop and later ran for chairmanship of the Long
Island Railroad, losing by the narrowest of margins. He was an
impulsive man, he asked his wife Alice to marry him on their first date
and she agreed. Finegan's story was the inspiration behind the award-winning
drama "Beyond the Pale" the films, writer, and producer Patrick Clarke
shared a Park Slope brownstone with Finegan for two years and formed a
lifelong friendship. "So many crazy situations occurred at that house I had
to do something with the material "Tom was so proud of the film, in particular, his
cameo appearance, although only a background actor you can see him
giving it his all". Tom loved being an Irish American and he
loved his native Brooklyn, the only time he ever left was to fulfill
his lifelong dream of visiting Ireland in 1986. Tom is survived by his
four children, Patricia, Alice, Loretta, and Peter.
