Christopher Vened (aka Krzysztof Szwaja) is originally from Poland where he was an actor-mime in the internationally renowned Wroclaw Pantomime Theatre of Henryk Tomaszewski. He defected to the West because martial law was declared in Poland on December 13, 1981. He lived in West Berlin for two and a half years and then immigrated permanently to the United States. He rebuilt his career there as a writer-director and acting teacher. He is the author of the acting book In Character: An Actor's Workbook for Character Development. He writes plays and screenplays. He thinks that meaning has been lost in the modern/postmodern culture and needs to be restored or found anew.
