Francisco de Asís Palacios Ortega, better known as "El Pali", was born on May 22, 1928 in the central neighborhood of La Casa de la Moneda in Seville and died in his hometown on June 21, 1988 at the age of 60 years. The nickname seems to be that it comes to him because in his youth he was thin as a "toothpick"; nothing to do with the image with which he is identified in the photographs of his albums, since "El Pali" over time gained weight, and had to alleviate his myopia with glasses whose magnifying glasses were known as "bottle ass ". El Pali is also known as "El Trovador de Sevilla" (The Troubadour from Seville), a nickname coined because the traditions of the people who saw him born are the central theme of many of his Sevillanas, traditions that he knew, and seeing them disappeared, he wanted gloss in his lyrics to bequeath them to Sevillians who knew him and future generations, who will undoubtedly know his voice.
